As the last few weeks have come and gone I have found my body becoming tired and have had to work hard on not staying in my head too much. There have been many times I have been tempted to skip a workout or cheat on my meal plan however that is when I have had to keep my focus on the goal. My body has been drilled and worked out in ways I never thought was possible.
What has been encouraging and has kept me going is the seeing how much more endurance I now have and how strong my muscles have become. When I look back at where I started in my workouts it is hardly the same person I see now. The thought of doing ten pushups in a row was unimaginable. Now I find myself doing curtsy pushups, spiderman pushups, jump pushups and the list goes on.
Now there are only six workouts and eight days left until the competition. Even as my body complains and my mind sometimes tells me to give up I think about how important it is to continue. After all – it’s not how you start but how you finish that counts most. I plan to finish strong.
